Candy-Bar Brownie Pie with Nicecream

Candy Bar Brownie Pie looks like a fancy dessert, especially when paired with a tasty nicecream like So Delicious Cashewmilk Salted Caramel Cluster or Very Vanilla. This recipe shows a few tricks for adapting to our current ingredient shortages. I chopped up a candy bar because I couldn’t find chocolate chips. I also used whole […]

sloppy pinto sandwich on bun with lettuce and melon

I make this super-easy filling for burger buns in the microwave so there’s no pot to wash, but you can make it on the stove too. In either case, it takes less than 10 minutes. It’s on my short-list of recipes for relaxed summer meals. You can also make the filling in advance and just […]

Apple Walnut Crumble

November 17, 2017 by Linda Watson Leave a Comment

Apple Crumble recipe ingredients: Granny Smith apples, walnuts, white whole wheat flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg

Apple Crumble is a more relaxed yet still comforting version of apple pie. It’s an updated version of Dutch Apple Cake, now with more apples plus healthy walnuts, half the fat and flour, and less than half the sugar. Instead of wasting time peeling apples, just slice them thinly and cut the slices into bite-sized pieces. The baked peels add texture and nutrition.
