Let Me Cook You Dinner! Auction at the Benefit for the Animals

Would you like me to cook dinner for you and up to five other people? You can bid on this dinner in the silent auction at the swanky Benefit for the Animals to support the Piedmont Farm Animals Refuge. Take a virtual tour with me in this post to see why I adore this sanctuary.

If you are the generous winner of the auction, I’ll create a plant-based menu that suits any of your other dietary needs. The ingredients will be mostly local and organic. I’ll cook in your kitchen or a kitchen you choose. You and your friends can hang out and treat it like a hands-on cooking class or just chill until dinner is served. I’ll clean up. You’ll even get printed recipes so that you can make your own encore!

Here are three suggested menu themes, with photos of the proposed desserts:

Most Requested Recipes
(organic, vegan, gluten-free, and nightshade free)
Christmas Limas (Chestnut Beans) with Tahini (my favorite)
Roasted Vegetables
Quinoa
Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato (my Taster’s favorite)
chocolate hazelnut gelato
Whole Foods Plant Based
(organic, vegan, gluten-free, optionally with no added fats or sugar)
Fresh Green Salad
Cuban Black Beans
Rainbow Peppers and Onions
Basmati Brown Rice
Cinnamon Baked Pears
baked pears with cinnamon cashew cream
Sweet-Potato Bar
(organic and vegan)
Baked Sweet Potatoes
Curried Red Lentils
Seasonal Vegetable Toppers
Baked Apples
Chocolate Brownies

I went to the Benefit for the Animals for the first time last year and was blown away. I’d expected a crunchy granola affair, but no! Hip people in cocktail attire filled the ultra-modern AIANC Center for Architecture and Design in downtown Raleigh. We enjoyed music, awesome and plentiful food, and excellent speakers. The silent auction provided many forms of temptation, including original art, events, vacation getaways, and jewelry. I hope to see you there!
