I know you don't put the vanilla extract in the ice cream base if you are going to freeze it for awhile before actually making it in the ice cream maker, but it's not clear to me if you include the milk/cream part of the ice cream base when you freeze it ahead. Or do you only freeze the fruit/sugar part of the recipe to add the milk/cream/vanilla prior to running it through the ice cream maker?

I usually freeze just the fruit, juice, and sugar part, then add the vanilla and milk / plant-milk with the mix right into the ice cream maker. Stir it right away with the paddle and it's works great. This saves room in your freezer and also minimizes your losses if there is a power failure.
