Fresh-Start Challenge, Week 2, Day 1

Welcome to Week 2, when you do all your cooking from scratch using the core winter cooking plan. How core? So core it's used year-round, whenever you're not doing something fancy like making a holiday feast.

How delicious? Enjoy Chocolate Upside-Down Cake and an oatmeal-raisin dessert today, plus bread and chili made last week. Here are the menus for the week.

Today, you'll do Core Cooking Session One from the Winter Menu in Wildly Affordable Organic, plus bake two desserts to make the transition to all-scratch cooking. See the book for details, but here are the options used for the Challenge.

  • Start the dough for Good Whisk Bread. Clean and soak chickpeas and split peas.
  • Bake Sweet-Sixteen Oatmeal-Raisin Bars and Chocolate Upside-Down Cake.
