Recipe: Good Mix Biscuits

Make these biscuits from Good Baking Mix. Just add water, stir, and drop by the spoonful onto a baking sheet. Nine minutes later, take tender, buttery biscuits hot out of the oven.

healthy biscuits from homemade baking mix recipe

Active time: 3 minutes. Total time: 12 minutes. Makes a dozen biscuits.

Ingredients

2 1/4 cup of Good Baking Mix
2/3 cup of water (or milk if you did not use powdered milk in the mix)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 450. In a medium bowl, stir mix and water together until just wet. Stirring more will make the biscuits tough.
  2. Use a soup spoon to drop dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Serve within 15 minutes if possible. Biscuits keep for a day covered at room temperature or for a few months frozen.

Tips and notes

  • To make a smoother biscuit that looks more like it was rolled out and cut, put dough on cookie sheet as described above. Dampen hands with water and gently pat biscuits to flatten tops and round edges.
  • This recipe is for a dozen biscuits, but you can make just one or hundreds at a time.
